Hello, I am Arjan Jennifer
Makar, a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist in
Ithaca, NY with 11 years of experience. I am also a teacher at
the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, instructing the
deep
tissue modalities and medical massage, prenatal massage, and
energy
palpation.
In addition to massage therapy training, my knowledge of the body is
supported by my Kundalini Yoga Teacher
Certification and graduation from the IM School of Healing
Arts. I have also studied and been certified in the
therapeutic uses of essential oils and have studied healing
work in India, Turkey, and Central America in order to broaden my perspective.
 We
all know about the negative effects of stress on our bodies
and massage is a wonderful way to relax and repair some of
that damage. But the potential of massage with a skilled
massage therapist is so much more. I have seen clients, through
massage therapy, learn to hear the subtle cues from their bodies that
tell them when it is time to make changes, whether its in
their posture or in their lives. I’ve seen clients find
healthier ways to be in their lives. I have seen clients
healing from chronic pain, enjoying life again and living with
more ease in their bodies. Maybe most importantly I have seen massage therapy clients breathing deeper and taking in life with more
appreciation.
